Volunteer Legal Services Program

Dear Dan,

Thank you for your gift on December 16, 2005 in the amount of $12,400 to the Bar Association of San Francisco (BASF) Foundation. Per your request, the entire amount of your gift will be designated to the Volunteer Legal Services Program (VLSP).

The BASF Foundation is a reflection of the San Francisco legal community’s great tradition and proud commitment to public service and civic engagement. The BASF Foundation fully funds BASF’s public service, pro bono and charitable programs through generous support from individuals and organizations in the San Francisco legal, business and philanthropic communities.

Thanks to your generosity, we are able to assist thousands of people each year through our flagship charitable program, the Volunteer Legal Services Program. Recognized nationally for innovation and leadership, VLSP is the largest and only fully comprehensive provider of legal services to poor people in San Francisco. Each year, thousands of clients receive assistance from VLSP and more than 1,500 VLSP volunteers provide the equivalent of at least $10 million in pro bono legal services. Undeniably, VLSP is an indispensable part of the civil justice system in San Francisco.

I know that you receive many charitable requests throughout the year and I am grateful that you have chosen to support VLSP through the BASF Foundation.

Sincerely,
Martha Whetstone
Executive Director
